Memorial Day Weekend:
FUN in the SUN

by The Green A-Team

Memorial Day Weekend is here which means FUN in the SUN! But can the sun really reverse the energy meter in your home?

The amount of energy the earth receives from the sun in one hour is enough to satisfy our entire planet’s energy needs for a year. So why hasn’t solar technology reached the tipping point of popularity? For one, the cost. It takes about 8-12 years to reclaim the initial expense in energy savings from currently available solar systems depending on fluctuating utility costs.

On the up side, modern solar systems work. Here’s Ethan Rosch, Solar Systems Expert.

Some exciting improvements in the now experimental generation of solar panels are using photovoltaic inks which can be coated on flexible sheets of plastic to fit the contours of your roof, car, and even clothing! Soon solar sensitive dyes will be built into the materials or even painted on the surfaces that suit us best.
