Biofuel use “increasing poverty”
by The Green A-TeamGreen Air Filter:
Despite being toted as the Messiah of the fuel economy, biofuel just cannot catch a break. One bullet biofuel has been trying to dodge constantly has been the lack of land to grow the crops needed to allow it to over take the market as an alternative fuel. While there is a solution for this problem, another complication arises.
More land can be outsourced from foreign nations. These nations tend to be third-world countries; which in turn, Oxfam has found, puts a strain on their food productions. With resources spent on refueling the gas guzzlers of the rich, poverty rates can only go up. It looks as it is time to drop biofuel before we all find ourselves in buried in fields of corn as biofools.
