Green Air is a nationally syndicated news radio feature and interactive hub for Green and environmentally significant news, stories and entertainment. It is comprised of a global network of media professionals who create, market, publish, and distribute traditional and new media content with a contemporary humanistic voice.

The Team
A troubadour of the broadcast industry, Rich brings his wit, curiosity, skepticism and passion to the airwaves as the voice of Green Air. Driven to create programming that would bring about positive change while inspiring and entertaining listeners, Rich has morphed his radio industry skills with his talent as a presenter. An accomplished writer and performer, Rich brings out the best in people connecting with his subjects, interviewees and listeners in a fully realized cohesion. Having began his career in radio as an Account Executive for CBS Radio Group, in 2005 he joined Buckley Broadcasting’s flagship New York Metro station, WOR Radio 710 HD. There he was provided a base of operations to explore preliminary ideas for Green Air. In December 2007, he received the distinguished honor of being published in the Radio Business Record for his article entitled ”Smoke and Mirrors: The Magic of Success.“

As a 15 year broadcast industry veteran, Scott Newman has launched 5 successful network talk/news programs including The Dennis Miller Show, Jim Cramer’s Real Money and Jay Severin Has Issues. In addition, he has created and produced a number of short and long form features including Last Night on Larry King Live, The Daily Show Feature with Jon Stewart, David Letterman’s Top Ten, Dan Rather Reports, Katie Couric’s Notebook and Harry Smith Reporting. Further, he has been instrumental in the production of special event broadcasts including “Bill Clinton Talks With America” and “CBS Cares with Charles Osgood, Mike Wallace and John McCain”. A critical player in conceptualization and execution, Scott Newman is a key element in Green Airs ability to excel.

Mandana Mofidi has been a reporter, producer, and broadcast associate for CBS’s 60 Minutes, CBS News Radio Network, Pacifica Radio Network and Free Speech Radio. Her extensive background includes producing for Charles Grodin, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Katie Couric’s Notebook, Harry Smith Reporting, Wired Magazine and other national programs. Mandana is personally and professionally invested in Green Air’s mission to utilize information as tool of empowerment towards creating change and promoting awareness in environmental issues relevant to our society and world as a whole.

Christine Zhuang, a student at Wellesley College and the classic case of aspiring young writer. She has the bright-eyed eagerness that drives her to take on any challenge. Her caustic wit and cynicism has inspired her to start her own satirical forum The Wellesley WASP, publishing social skepticisms honored by the likes of Random House. Christine is a contributing writer for Green Air because like her own unique voice, she believes that Green Air has an important point of view that needs to be heard. Her commentary can be found exclusively in the Green Air News section.
Kristen Arrigo grew up in a sustainable home. She received a BA in Ecology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Kristin writes a column for the Nashua Telegraph called Only Better which focuses on sustainable alternatives and ‘Green’ perspective. Her writing has been featured and referenced on several different web-site publications.

Shireen Qudosi, Contributor
Shireen Qudosi is a content writer with Air-n-Water. Shireen’s 5-year career in marketing and brand identity has allowed her to pair her expertise in product research with her interest in the environment.
Julie Knecht is a student at Penn State University, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science. She was the executive producer of PSN News for 5 semesters. PSN News airs on Penn State Network Television (PSNtv), Penn State’s student-run television network. Julie’s love lies in news and she brings a new student-perspective to Green Air as CBS Radio’s summer 2010 intern.
