Japan to launch carbon footprint labelling scheme

With eco-awareness having such omnipresence in our daily lives, many Green terms have entered our vocabulary. It was only a matter of time that they made the transition from eco-catchphrases to household names.
Japanese companies have decided to pursue a marketing platform, already tested in the United Kingdom, by labeling food and household products with their carbon footprints. Labeling adds an extra incentive for companies to be greener in their production processes for they act as another form of competitive edge in marketing campaigns. But will the carbon footprint labels an impact on customers? Will they eventually overtake the biggest purchasing factor: the price?
