Just Do It:
Green Sneakers

by The Green A-Team

Did you ever think that “Just Do It,” or “Trash Talk” had anything to do being Green?

For twenty-three years, Nike’s Air Jordans have united a generation by leading fashion trends on the street and inspiring excellence on the court. This year a new sneaker is making a global slam dunk. Nike and NBA all-star Steve Nash have teamed up to create “Trash Talk, the first ever performance basketball shoe made from manufacturing waste.

Nash, the latest from an emerging crop of celebrity role models taking the trash out of their talk says, “Any opportunity to promote the environment and preserve our planet is a step in the right direction.” Constructed from a combination of synthetic leather waste, scrap-ground foam and environmentally preferred rubber, this sneaker stands up on the court and for the environment.

So when considering what to wear at the next big game or social gathering, there’s no need to compromise your devotion to a sustainable lifestyle. Like Nike, other companies are releasing eco-friendly sportswear apparel by adopting the new standards set fourth by today’s modern consumer, providing legitimate alternatives to the growing needs of athletes whose concerns extend beyond the court.
