U.S. denies polar bears protection from climate change

The U.S. Government has claimed, as a policy, to let science dictate the policy on environmental issues. Which includes, according to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, government’s current views on the melting sea ice that is rapidly depleting the polar bear population. The endangered species is not seen as an great enough reason for instigating further policies on the melting sea ice.
Salazar’s excuse has owed rationality to the fact that the polar bears fall under archaic and outdated policies from the 70s that could not foresee the effects of global warming. Though, this reasoning appears rather contradictory for the Environmental Protection Agency’s recent decision to include carbon emissions as a part of dangerous pollutants that need to be regulated. Salazar has promised a comprehensive legislature on climate change that would include stopping the melting of sea ice. But how long can the polar bears wait?
